hi i just brought a r32 gtst with a rb26 and i want to know what the engine come out of 32 33 34

is there and way of checking markings ect?

the reson why, im doing the clutch on sat and i need to know if its push (r32) or pull (33)

thanks anthony

You can't they are all the same.

Except for engine numbers but I've never seen a reliable guide posted and they are not recorded in FAST.

And the 34 motor had a different spark plug cover. But nothings stops them changing that

ahh hang on I missed the whole point, your question is "what sort of clutch" right?

Get under the car and have a look at the slave cylinder on the gearbox.

If the slave cylinder is to the rear of the car compared to the clutch fork it is pull type. Push type if the slave cylinder is to the front of the car compared to the fork.

The 32 motor has a different oil pump drive (I think) to 33 and 34 models, if you're that keen on finding out which model it is :)

I reckon it's more than likely from a 32, most RB26 converted cars (In Oz anyway I reckon) run R32 motors it would seem

Guys if it's in an R32 GTS-t then the gearbox is going to be one of four options.

a)Factory RB20DET box (I hope not)

b)R33 GTS-t box (Push Setup)

c)R34 GT-t box (Pull Setup)

d)GTR box with front drive shaft removed (not likely)

To determine which box you are using, and inturn find the clutch set I would firstly look at the slave cyliner used and it's position. Firstly pop your head under the car, and as Duncan stated if you are running a pull setup you will see the slave loacted to the rear or the clutch fork. If you are running a pull setup then the box is either a late R32, R33, R34 GTR box with removed front drive shaft, or R34 GT-t box. If the slave is located the the front of the slave then use the following to determine which box has been installed.

If it's an R32 GTS-t box you should be able to locate a bolt located at both the top and bottom of the slave. If an R33 GTS25-t boxes the slave will have two bolts positioned next to each other at the bottom of the slave.

Please if you still can't confirm the box send me a pic of the slave cyliner to andrew @ kudosmotorsports.com, just remove the space before & after the @.

I hope that helps.

Very easy to see if you have a pull or push clutch , like duncan and bigsully said . More than likely you have a push clutch and you would know if you had a 34gtr box , they are 6 speed getrag .

As for the engine, post or pm ( if you dont want everyoneto see it ) the engine number and i'll tell you the year that it was made .

The number is on the drivers side , look under the alternator .

there are several small differences in the 3 engines but can be changed on them . The 34 has different CAS and exhaust cam , not interchangable , unless you change both, the 34 doent have the igniter either , 34 has plastic top timing belt cover , unpainted plenum and red covers .

32 and 33 differences are very minor and harder to notice and as they are easyly interchangable hard to pick .
