Im lookin' at gettin a gtec pro competition, jsut to measure 1/4mile times n reaction times..anyone used one of these...

Yes we use one...and if calibrated properly they are super accurate...try and get the RR version with the data logging and software.

I've had occasion to use one of the old ones (not with that funky screen, but the old 1 line of alphanumeric). Very accurate.

The guy I got it off had been using it on his Silvia. He ran it up on Unigroup's dyno and got a figure.

He then used the GTech when leaving Unigroup, and for the "weight" input he just put in the listed weight of the car from the service manual + an estimate for his own weight in (in other words he didn't factor how much fuel, stuff in the boot and back seat, etc)...and the thing was under 10hp off the dyno measurement.

I used one the other day from a mate who got it off one of his friends because I wanted to check it out. Personally I don't see the point in getting one, but that might just be me. Does seem quite accurate with the measurements though. Did a 400m run with it & it gives a good range of figures. Calibrating it is the hard part to get the exact weight & the pitch.

You must be using an old model...we use the weighbridge at the local tip to find the exact weight.

well its sounds pretty good from what ive read and DiRTgarage says its decent, so i might pick up one of these things shortly. ill let u know how this thing goes
