That would of been a hairy moment for no.#45 :).

I went karting at Port Elliot Pitts on the wkend & a mate swerved on the second chicane to avoid hitting someone, he hit the dirt ditch & then launched the kart a good foot in the air. He's still prob feeling it today :).

haha i did the same thing when racing a group as a mate spun near that corner... launched and then left blackstrips down the road after working to recover the sideways momentum :P go karting is great fun (especially in bigger engine karts than standard ones!!)

where exactly is that in bolivar and when do they compete?

im interested in joining a kart club.... might be buying a mates KTS-100 (gets up to 100km/h) kart and hoping that I could join a kart class for competition...

Hey buddy the Go Kart track is in Bolivar just off Pt Wakefield Hwy just passed the Caltex think the road is Summer Rd. The racing has stopped for the year but i think the club is called Southern Sprint Kart Club of SA

      Ohh even easier.   Go dial up 700rpm on the hand controller. Rip off the TPS plug, wait till the idle drops and then adjust the IACV screw so it's just a tad below the target on the hand controller (say 650rpm), plug the TPS back in and idle will climb back to target. Done.

      Yeah, you want the IACV to be running at around 30 "units", variously called "steps" or "duty cycle" depending on the person. That gives it room to go lower if need be and higher ditto.

      The RPM is just a target, the ECU will adjust things to try and hit that target but it's by no means guaranteed. If the IACV duty cycle is 0 or something like that and it's actually closing up fully then the idle is as low as it can physically go without reducing ignition timing. The problem can be something like the cold start valve in the IACV not closing fully, worn throttle shaft seals, torn rubber diaphragm in the brake booster allowing unmetered air, etc.
