i was originally looking for an R32 but went for the R33 because there was a much greater range to choose from.

at the time there was about 2-3 R32s advertised each week that met my needs compared to about 10 R33.

but either was it comes down to your own preference, have a look at a few, test drive the ones you like the sound of and make your decision from there.

hmm I don't mind either cars.

but speaking from experience of having driving both and ending up owning an R32 myself. I found that even though the R33 is faster and newer and to some shallow minds 'Pull chicks' more lol.

I went the r32 cos I wanted a driver oriented car. sure its old and not as beefy and mean looking stock as an R33 but its lighter and more chuckable. sure the r33 has more power stock too but I'm not into the whole drag thing cos there's no skill involved.

The r33 feels a little too boring. its like nissan went back to a conversative approach as it looked more like a family car. I feel like I'm driving a maxima or camry when I'm in one.

I'm not dissing the R33's as they are great cars to drive still.

but I'm just hearing they are becoming the next VL commo if you know what I mean.

anyways thats my 2 cents. try em out. stock and modded form would be a good testing variable. should also check out the R34 while your at it. big improvement.

Definatly the R33 you get a RB25 as aposed to a RB20 which i thinks is more like a VL commo, but by comparison the power to weight is pretty similar.

I chose 33 because i didn't want such a old car(and the 15 year rule saw a sh1t load of them come in)........I would only go a R32 GTR personally only because at a flick of a switch it's RWD...........mmmmmm lovin the rear steppin out!!!!

33 comes with a good motor and gearbox.

All though the R32 is lighter, smaller and has more of a racier feel, the gearbox and motor will eventually have to be replaced with at least r33 bits IF you plan to make 230-240rwkw+

With regards to how quick each car is....

R33 is quicker in dead stock form.

R32 is quicker with real mild mods such as exhaust, fmic and boost due to the R33's rich and retard.

R33 is quicker once you drop a pfc in to it.

hahah.. at the R32 comment.. :P

I agree.. It does look a little like a VN cluster surround but still much better. The inlaws have a VN.. The dash surround and center vents etc look damn ugly.

Nothing wrong with the old VL Turbo though.. They are damn light, slightly lighter than the R33 I believe, and make better power with minmal mods than both the R33 and R32.

Exhaust, fmic and some boost and they are up there making the same power as a R33 with the same mods but a fully tuned ecu. :)

hence the SAU dyno day and Natho's 187rwkw VLT with its 2.5" exhaust and small IC :)

I think the R33 looks rough as simply lowered slightly on a set of nice wheels running 255's.

Start putting body kits on them and they start to look a little ricey.

Then again I think the new HSV's look ricey with their body kits.

R32's are the same.. Nice gtr style front bumper with the type-m body kit slightly lowered on a set of nice wheels running the widest tyres you can fit under the guards.

Body kits generally ruin cars I think. I'm always able to pick the dodgy lines and wavey plastic/fibreglass and think why oh why.....
