I think you should write a letter back to them, than letter drop it to everyone in your street..

Has to be someone close (next door or over the road) to you if they are being woken up/annoyed at the turbo timer..

They obviously have nothing better to do with their time.. it's annoying because you can't even have a chat to them about it.. could atleast have left a name on it..

good call, with a copy of the original complaint enclosed.

People who live in streets with speed humps know that they increase noise from cars because they are slowing down then speeding up again.

I don't think your new people to the street are the culprits judging by the "just like the idiots that used to use..." comment.

I drive normally with not much boosting the last little bit before I get home so I don't need the turbo timer so that's an easy fix.

yeh could be an older resident. good point. down the road a bit there used to be alot of ppl that would do burn outs there (ya could tell cause there was always new tire marks out side the one house, lol) and it was known as the party house.. didnt bother me one bit oviously it did bother some1 else which is fare enough if there doing burn out all the time.

They talk about previous 'draggers'?

Request names/makes of cars and rough dates

No need to travel at a speed where the waste gate needs to expels pressure?

Even in 1st gear im sure if would be loud. Would they prefer you turned it off and pushed it? Im guessing you use 2nd gear for 40k's - but then "run the risk" of a 'child or someone being injured or killed'?

The letter is addressed "Concerned residents" - when you locate the author request names (or house numbers) of other concerned residents who are threatning you - if there are actually any!

Stiff fine?

For what? driving home? Sounds like the resident (s) who wrote this letter need a hobby

i usaly change from first to 2nd at around 30ks or 40ks (in which case i just skip 2nd and go to 4th to just crusie the 200meters till i go back to 2nd to turn the corner)

also they are complaining that i get home too late on some week nights, which is around 2am some times. which i have in the past weeks, but i rarly do cause i have to get up for work at 5:30am mon-friday. and it also goes "the speeds that he is doing" saying im hooning down the street heaps fast!, i know this is word against word here, but i swear to god (or anything ya want), that i have never sped down my street doing in exces of 50kph which is the posted speed limit

ill try and get a scan of the letter if i can grab it off the table

ok got a scan of it... now ya can see y im so angry

omg!! what are they you parents, complaining about you coming home at 2:30am!! its a free world! you pay to live in your st.. they should get a life!!!! how loud is your car at night? does it really echo up the st?

my neighbours are cool!!! I only have one real neighbour that i can annoy, but he is cool, cause he love antique cars, so he is always in the garage fiddling around... so he understands my obsession :D

What happens when you complain to M&Ms factory, or a Pepsi company saying stuff like "they melted in my hand" or "my Pepsi was sour"? They send you more...

I say, since they complain about one car - why not give them more :D sl!m's idea is goot :)

its not overly loud at all.. if anything its quite a low nice bass tone, not that loud.. i duno if others have this, but theres a muffler half way through the exhaust as well, which anoys me cause its so large that its lower then anything else on the bottom of the car and tends to scrape alot on a non lowered car..

maybe if moonie came a crusie she could hear it :D:) hehe

EDIT: Look at the letter properly... notice the use of language and punctuation. Then notice the lack of spell-check, I think you should pass this off as a stupid attempt from one of the kids :D

I have had my neighbour complain to me . He came up to me one day after work and politely asked me why the car has to be running after i get out of the car . I kindly explained to him the physics of Metalergy , and what happens to a turbo if its stopped suddenly.

He then asked if it was nessasary to have it running at all hours of the night when i come home late (12am-6am) on weekends. I said to him i will drive the car slowly a few kms away from my house ( meaning under boost ; 1500-2500 rpm) and when i get home i will turn it straight off ,so as not to wake every1 in my street up with my idle. My neighbour works for the RTA too. :D

Since then its been sweet, I have turned it off when i come home late and he seems happy.

To bad for you that they are doin such actions to you man, I would honestly go around each of ur neighbours and ask them if they have any issues with you and your car ?

Do you know whos complaining?

do people have nothing better to do know days..

im tipping elderly and they probably dont even have kids. people like this really tick me off, they think cause ur cars louder than the norm u must be speeding.

pik the three houses in ur street with the best gardens and presentation and send them a letter bak, they'd be the ones that spend all day and night looking through the blinds and will pick and nag on things

shit...that sounds like MY street! lol

only i know exactly who the whingers are! :D well i don't exactly have a black spot in his books...jus ta grey one. he dislikes the "young ones" of the street coz i drive an r33 gtst, my friend across the street drives an r32 gtst, and his brother has a 200sx. my friends come by now and then, and i understand how it can be annoying somethimes, and ask them to turn the turbo timers off, or tell them when to come over or not. that dickhead is still whinging buot how my friend left his tracks on the street. i mean. you can blame people for their own actions, but not for the actions of others.

i get the point when he looks my way just sitting in my car at mid day listening to a few tunes...GOSH.. get a life! he complained to me when some idiots came down the street and floored it, and said they were my friends...and that i called them up to piss him off....

fellow members of the skylines crew....lets give him and the whingers of Nancy Place a REAL reason to whinge about..... i mean, people living out their hobbies here! not like i tell ihm to shut d F!@# up when he listens to his 80's music of walks around in a singlet showing off his beer gut... man...i can call the cops for indecent exposure on him! hahaha

First of all black out the name of your street and suburb.

I would go door knocking to find out who wrote the letter and then discuss a quick resolution suggesting that they move out of the street if they don't like your car.

Are there any retired people in your street?

not a bad idea, they'd feel like a right old git writing an anonymus (sp? lol) letter when you confront them right away

consider yourself lucky that all you got was a letter.

i got police coming to my house saying someone called crimestoppers saying that i carried marajuana plants into my house from my car!

i was really pissed off but what could i do?

my neighbours are f**k heads. i never did any of that crap to begin with, now i drop it to 2nd whenever i hit my street and make my mates drive to my house pumping their systems and letting bov's go off before we go out.

f**king wankers!

    • I don't how much the car makes a difference or whether it is just a question of gearbox and clutch. On mine it's fine. Pull type Nismo coppermix twin (standard, not competition) on the 5 speed in my Stagea. OEM slave cylinder. Bite point is a few cm off the very bottom of the pedal. Clutch pedal all the way down to put in gear, and when heading off at the lights, there's a tiny bit of nothing and then it starts biting. And fully engaged before the pedal is all the way released. There's a bit of play at the top where the pedal does nothing anymore. Are you in Australia @ck_chino? If you are set on using a Nismo slave cylinder I have one new-in-box at home. Ordered it together with the clutch but didn't get it fitted. We can work something out if you want it
    • I am using a pull nismo coppermix twin in an r34 getrag box, had both the standard slave and  then the nismo one. Adjusted pedal to get bite point how I wanted , it is on the higher side, but would fully disengage past half way down.  I also read that the nismo slave won't work but I had no issues with the stroke, might become one later as clutch wears but 2+ years of happy motoring so far.  Take the above as one input only, specially as my setup is a bit unique in that I am using an S15 clutch master , cefiro clutch pedal, custom braided clutch line. Lots of variables at play.
    • Oh for sure, I'm just recounting my thoughts 😎 I'm not what you've got there to fuzt with.... likely my first idea was on the money -- rebuild or replace connectors. You can get a lot of connector stuff here  -> https://www.rapidcables.com.au/ Didn't look in the boot of mine, because I replaced these when I renewed the pump (plastic of connectors had gone brittle) edit: what I used... https://www.efihardware.com/products/2120/Deutsch-DTM-Connector-Kit-6-Pin ...cheaper... https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/364900039138
    • In no way was i suggesting it’s your fault mate. The trailer cable has a plug that I removed. I will have a closer look, but I did remove the trailer wiring cable with the tow ball as I don’t need it on my silo. i have replaced the fuel pump already there’s no need to remove the cradle again I can see the wire colours from it in.
