Hi All,

I have been searching all night for some details on how to change a timing belt on an RB engine?

From what I gather, it is a matter of removing the radiator (for space and not a big issue whne planning on flushing the coolant at the same time) then the fan belts, covers and the timing cover...

Can anyone give me some further detail before I start or point me to a page with a detailed run-down??

Would be awesome if someone could show me where to download a workshop manual!!! :D

I have an R32 GTS-t...

THANKS in advance!!

I just got my 33 done the other week and I replaced the timing belt water pump and tensioner pully. I also found out while everything was out that the idler bearing was stuffed and needed replacing too. Unfortuantely I had to use a genuine one and from nissan they cost $280. The radiator was removed flushed and topped up with new coolant.

I was extremely happy with the work done and if your unsure or not mechanically minded its probably easier to get it done by a workshop.

Cheers

This is a how to in the Stagea section, with pictures from the Nissan workshop manual. The RB25DET is pretty much the same as the RB20DET, except for the VVT on the inlet camshaft.
