Hello from Canada!

Damn is this site sexy, lots of members and activity. You guys should be seeing quite a bit of me.

I do have a couple questions, but first a little background:

Ive always thought skylines were awesome cars growing up, and I knew they were illegal up here (According to our laws, cars need to be 15 years old to be imported if they werent built for the canadian market) and just recently within the past few years have skylines been legal to own and drive in Canada.

Which is great news, 1 huge step closer to having one of my own. A friend of mine bought a car from www.bestjapancar.com, got here in about 2 months and it was rather tuned, pushing about 350hp we figure with the mods. But he wrecked driving to work one day, crashed into someone in traffic, then someone hit him.

Good news however, is that he's getting new parts covered under his insurance, and getting a factory bumper to replace his front kit he didnt like. He's just been without his car for 2 months now (had it for 3 weeks before he wrecked).

Now Ive been considering getting one of my own in the spring, once we get rid of the cold snow and the salt (dont want my car for that...) and Im currently driving an 87 honda accord (www.3geez.com). Its getting rough, and its just a beater. Ive got pics of it aswell (company delivery car). Shes got decent power (130hp? for something that weighs 1000kg, it goes alright for an economy car) and it gets good city milage.

Its a beaut aint it? Well it doesnt have to be, for work anyways, and Ive been saving up some money and im about ready to upgrade.

I'm the kind of guy that'll drive shit for aslong as he can and then get the best he can. So I'm thinking a modded 1991 r32 and Over drive japan has some decent selections in a very nice price range.

I do have a couple questions though, and since Im new to the whole skyline scene, please bear with some of the ignorance you are bound to put up with for the next little while, I'll do my best though.

The first question being, what would it take to get an r34 "kit" for the 32, from what I understand, the 34 is just a bigger car in general, so the front bumper etc, wont line up correctly. And I also assume its not a direct fit, are there any such things to get it to look like a 34? The 32's are becoming popular around here, and since the 34's are illegal, its even more praise value to have one that looks like a 34.

Are the RB motors interferance or not? (well specifically the 26, in the r32)

And the last question for now, is how easy is it to roll back the odometer on these cars? Because it seems wierd that all the skylines listed are basically under 100,000km. That just doesnt seem right, I mean, if I had a skyline Id drive it all the time. And for 15 years old, I figure it should have more milage than that. I just dont want to think im getting one with 90,000km and find out its been wound back from 200,000

Bee-R make a 34 kit for the 32 but the price is steep and shipping it from Japan would be expensive again. The R32 GTR has a great look by itself, its not really worthwhile spoiling it with a bunch of bolt on plastic parts that cost big dollars.

You'll find almost all the ODO's are wound back - you wont find a 15 year old car with under 100,000 on it in reality. Unfortunately there is almost no way to find out really how many km's your import has done. Actually winding them back is only a 10 minute job and can be done by anyone.

Hey thanks for the replies, yeah I figured they would all be wound back. My friends speedo would "stop" sometimes and he thought it could be due to winding back. Yeah like I said, a highly performing car thats 15 years old should definately have more than 100000km on it. In reality, what do you think they "should" actually have for mileage? Assuming it was someones "toy".

Im in saskatchewan

Yeah I totally agree the 32's are sexy, but like I said, sincec they are becoming common in a rare world of these cars, I would really like to stand out, especially if its representing the company I work for. As a sponsor car, whats the cost of those kits? It may not be an issue.
