Charge Dropping R34 Skyline Gtt

Hi Everyone,

Recently bought a 2001 Nissan Skyline R34 GTT (Tiptonic).

In the last day i have noticed the charge metre/guage has been flickering and then late yesterday when I went to turn on my lights whilst driving the charge metre/guage dropped right down and the car stalled. The car started straight away with no worries, however then at a set of lights whilst stationary the car stalled again.

Has anyone else experienced this? If so what was the problem.

Sounds like a loose connection somewhere. Check your battery terminals for tightness and corrosion. Then maybe try the connections to the alternator.

Make sure the ground cable is attached properly (it's the black one from your battery and should attach to your car chassis and engine).

Definitely agree about a loose connection. this happened to me recently, and I was so hungover from the night before that I had to get an autoelectrician to come in.

My did I look stupid, when there I was telling the autoelectrician about how I had tried swapping the battery, cleaning contacts, checking fuses etc. Te problem was that I had left a connection in the fuse box loose when installing the power cable for my amp .

PS: No, I was not going to drive the car in a half drunken state, I was only trying to do some work on it.
