well... if it's got 4 studs, 5 studs or 6 studs, then it will be ok....

(on the dynapack)

rear packs can handle about 800hp, and fronts about 600 from memory....

i saw one mob putting Sumo's [TECHONE] onto a dyno with the ATESSA fuse pulled, and only a chock under the front wheels to hold it back....

Dyno Dynamics held down 1278 hp at the summer nats.

I have had a drag car put down 800HP, so if your streeter puts

down over the 1300hp limit of my dyno best drag it and work

out your power.

An un happy C-red customer? find that hard to believe as thay are one of our better shops there must be a personal issue involved i think. Tim slako has not lasted this long for no reason!

I've done jap race cars for 20 years and tim was long established

then.

hmmm..... i know the packs have issues with supras.... Ivan had to stay in my car while we put them on.... I thought it was ok with cars like Nik's R33 tho.... I'll check later....

Correction: The packs _just_ missed fitting Nik's car... but new extended hubs for this situation are on their way...

(For those of you who don't know Niks car, most race cars don't have body kits this wide :-)

yeah that was a fun day

me:'you gunna tie this thing down?'

them: 'nah mate we've had over 600 horse on this dyno before no worries'

me: 'you've nevr had a car like this on here im sure, would you tie it down'

'them: 'nah she'll be right'

i then got 4 of the fatest bastards there to sit in the 4 passenger seats to try and keep it in a bit better, and for added effort to stop it lifting out of the rollers, they had one of the mechanics put his foot on the wheel chock to hold it in place incase it slipped out..

oh and they even turned on the air fan which they hadn't bothered with for everyone else..

while on the run i watched the wheel sit right on the top of the roller towards redline and cringed waiting for it to roll forward of the top and onto the waiting floor..

just what i wanted to happen with a car that wasn't mine..

id love to see work safes response if they saw that..

Steve,

Does the dyna-pack give a more accurate power reading because it takes the reading directly from the hubs with no loss due to tyre bounce etc?

No tyres deflection, no hassles with high or low pressures giving odd readings..

theres a whole bunch of variables that instantly get dealt with by direct boling the dyno to the hub, not to mention that if it ever did come free of the packs the car would drop straight ot the ground and thats about as far as it would move..

Yeah, that sounds really safe. It doesn't matter if a car has 50hp or 500hp, I'd still want it tied down. Even if there wasn't any chance of it coming loose, it's not worth the risk.

XRW,

The hub dyno does sound good, I haven't seen it in action yet.

See'ya:burnout:

FIl

i don't think i've seen any car as wide as niks

not just race cars lol

buses and trucks included lol

maybe a bit of exaggeration there but ya get that

i' ve had a first hand look at them hub dynos which ever ones they are called and they seem to me to be the best ones to use as ya don't lose traction or anything and there ain't really any chance of your car jumping off anywhere coz they bolted on, it was at someplace next to supertech (scott) in bentley on catherine street i can't remember what the shop is callled W.A Engine Centre? i think?

One of the best must be Tim Slako at West Racing, bloody expensive but awesome quality work. In the few times i have been there have seen sponsored cars from other (specialised jap) workshops having bad engineering rectified, gettin tuned etc. Go there if ya wanna see a 1000hp twin supercharged commo GTS... drool

they also the official distributers for redline oil so its cheaper there than anywhere elsce

i dunnoz hey

all i know is it's at the back of this work shop

they kinda hidden

sumwhat like a trench

hehe is a steep driveway lol

and scotts workshop is next to them (Supertech)

awesome guy

i reccomend him as well

knows heaps but he works alone so he very busy

but i tell ya what he does keep to a schedule

very dedicated i once drove past his workshop at 8.30pm and he was there working on a skyline that was to be finished by the next day! he hates pushing due dates back NOW THATS DEDICATION

cheers
