Antenna Problem

Hi all,

My antenna recently decides when it would like to go down. But there is a twist. It only goes down when i take a corner (Left or right) with the indicator on. If i take it without the indicator it wont go down, or when im driving straight it will also not go down.

What could be wrong? Cant even listen to the radio anymore lol.

Is it an aftermarket antenna in the factory position or is it just the factory antenna?

If it is aftermarket, it may be that they have taken a power or earth from a source that is not very reliable..

Is it an aftermarket head unit?

Yeah its a Jap Kenwood headunit. The antenna looks stock.

if its the stock one then I would pop the control unit out and resolder a few joints on the board.

What if you go straight with your indicator on?

im tippin a broken wire to the aerial most aerials require two positives to it one comes on with the key and the other comes on with the radio this is what makes the aerial go up an down when the power is removed i would check that first also i would check the connections

most wiring dramas are at dodgy twisted to gether wires at the back of the head unit
