Hi guys,

Today I tried to install a couple of apexi pods in my r32 gtr, but as i was unscrewing the bolts from the air flow meter which joins to the air box, the plastic bits are so brittle that it broke and fell apart. <_< So now i only have 1 bolt holding it in place. And there is a bit of a gap on one side of the air pipe. My question is, is it still okay to drive? or will a small gap suck in too much dust in the engine etc?

Also how much is a replacement AFM??

Thanks guys! I need help!

Phil I'm just taking a pluck here, but if there is air making its way past the AFM without passing through it, you may have dramas as the meter will not be forwarding the right info to the ECU. About the only place I would drive it (if it were me) would be to the wreckers to buy a replacement.

Z32 meters (used) go for $200-250. R32 GTR? Not sure, vaguely remember seeing them for $80-100 (as no-one wants them).

Hey Phil what did you end up paying for an RB26 meter?

I didn't know if you had the OEM ECU or PFC - Z32 needs an aftermarket computer. Not 100% here but pretty sure it is because the Z32 meter measures airflow in smaller voltage increments therefore you can tune the motor more finely. Meh, I forget :O

10-4 Troy, for some reason I thought it was broken after the unit. 15 year old plastic sucks, my adaptor/plug-in bit is cracked and taking the coils off sucks too - worried something is going to snap off.

Hey!

Well i will be depositing $150 including delivery for 2 x standard afm's. The cheapest i could get them so far.

I only have the stock ECU and not planning to make too much power. so stock ones will do me for now :D
