THIS CAR IS NOW SOLD!

This is a real sleeper. It’s a good starting point for someone wanting a cheap yet competitive car to get into club/state level motorsport either as a street/competition compromise or as a base for a purpose-built supersprint, rally, hillclimb or whatever car. It has been modified purely for performance and not for show. It has not been modified for a peak kilowatt rating but for a meaty useable torque curve. Attention has been given to responsiveness, handling and braking for a complete package. Good for consistent 1.10's at Wakefield.

This car has been well maintained by NRG and by MRT. Bushes, bearings, CVs, air flow meter, O2 sensor, accelerator cable, driver's seat sliders, and all the other items that become consumables over the lifetime of a car, have been replaced as soon as a problem has been noticed or as preventative maintenance.

Further information/history:

An Australian delivered RS from new. Original manual and service history available. I bought this car originally in 1994 as the second owner with the new car warranty still remaining. During this time I made some minor modifications that included exhaust, air intake, suspension, and stereo. After a few years ownership I sold it to John D who performed the vast majority of the modifications listed above during his ownership. Both John and I belonged to the same car club so the development of the car was well known. Earlier this year John offered it for sale and I snapped it up because I knew how well both John and the previous owner had looked after it. The car has never been resprayed or had any accident repair whatsoever, therefore it has the original paintwork from the factory. This includes some minor bumps and bruises that a car may typically experience over time. However, the car is straight and extremely clean.

Reason for sale:

With a new employment position I have an opportunity to upgrade to a car that I've wanted since I originally bought the Liberty. A R32 Skyline GTR.

For further info or an inspection PM me or contact me on 0422-646-624.

The car is located in Sydney and has 12 months rego if required.

Pics sent to those that have requested.

Thanks for your kind words leethal, the car has served me well. Many people are surprised at how much of the symmetrical understeer has been dialled out with the suspension mods and how hard it can go.

Hi mate, if you're interested in trading up to a 32 GTR, let me know what kind of cash adjustment you'd offer... we may be able to work something out :)

otherwise, thanks for your time, good luck with the sale :O

I know Yuri is new to the these forums but I am not.

Yuri's been a close mate of mine for over 15 years.

I was scared in this car when he first got it and took me for a spin.. I didn't have a license back then so that wasn't hard.

the week he bought this car back, he took me for another spin.

now I know alot of you might say yeh yeh, but I kid you not, I am yet to go in to another car that can be driven controllebly with this sort of handling and grip.

158 all wheel kw doesn't sound like much.

and I guess if you are a 1/4 mile bro kinda person, this car is not for you.

but if you are after a car that can idle along with traffic then be able to consistantly run 1:10's around wakefield on street tyres, then this is definitely for you.

subaru understeer is pretty much non existant with the suspension mods.

the gearbox and diff ratios, and ball bearig turbo (yes yuri vf23 is Ball bearing not roller bearing) makes this RS one that doesn't have the laggy feel below 3000rpm like other are.

anyway, for $12K, I doubt you'll find another car that can do the same thing.

actually, for $12K, you'll get an RS with exhaust and rims and king springs from the trading post.

I'll finish by saying that Yuri sucks for putting this up for sale a month after I bought something else, after I begged him to sell it to me earlier.

LO R33, the odometer shows 291,xxx but it's probably the only moveable part that has not been replaced in its life.

GTST, thanks for the vote of confidence but we all know who does the sucking around here. It compliments your begging perfectly!

    • Yep, that was one of the things we learned fast in the past with our MX5. When you drive with the top down, you are effectively standing out in the sun, 100% of the time, and not getting in any shade (because roads aren't shaded generally!). Just like standing out in the middle of a field on a sunny 27C day is a bit of a bad plan, so is sitting in a MX5 without sun protection.
    • I also just ordered some Frankenstein bolts and side mounts to fit a hard top Just in case I do find one, basically so it doesn't need to be fixed to the car with only the front latch.......and then gaffa tape to keep it in place for the RTN journey from wherever I get it
    • If your temps are fine now, you probably won't have any issues with where your vents are as they don't look right up at the windscreens high pressure area, so any differences when giving it the beans for extended happy laps would be minimal, but, they should vent heaps when stuck in traffic  Much like how that reverse cowl on my SS let "visible" heat out when stationary, but, because it was basically at the windscreen my coolant temps on the Hwy actually raised because air was being fed into it at speed (110kph), to only come back down to around 90° when I got off the Hwy And your 100% correct about the NC currently not needing vents, but, if I was to add a turbo, and a oil cooler and intercooler in front of the condenserand radiator, and then take it to the track???? It is apparently a recommend requirement if I don't want to worry about coolant or oil temp issues, but, any of the above are possible scenarios, over time As it sits now, with the triple pass radiator and stock air conditioning system, I have absolutely no issues with either temps or air conditioning efficiency, I've been basically daily driving thie car for the last month, both on the Hwy, and peak hour, bumper to bumper traffic, but, that's pretty much expected from basically a standard engine  Talking about no issues daily driving, it was 39° the other day and I was sitting in bumper to bumper traffic on the M5 and then M7, with the top down, and with the air conditioning blowing nice cold air on my feet, balls, and face, well, there was one issue, my head and arms got pretty sun burnt Note to self: leave a hat and sunscreen in the car for such days 🤣
    • I would agree, unless you need something specific to the HV motor/battery side repaired or investigated, any mechanic will be able to perform normal services, but if you prefer, maybe look for a mechanic who regularly services/repairs Nissans, the VQ engines are pretty common in the Nissan lineup.  Sorry, I can't make any suggestions, I don't live in Vic.
    • Some of them keep working fine. 9 out of 10 of them end up causing an absolute misery bleeding the system and get thrown on the workshop floor in a tantrum and never thought about again because they were never really needed and just added crap to the car that we could have done without. Same-same with HICAS, A-LSD, and various other stupidities that over eager 10x engineers thought we had to have.
