Just installed my "C's short shifter", ordered from japan through Unique Auto Sports.

And what a bloody differance.:P

It has turned the feel of my R33 from a luxury sports car to a true sports car. The throw, of the shift, is just perfect and the box actually feels alot tighter. Took my car around Calder Park (Melb.) on the weekend and the speed of my shifts dramatically improved, even my mates watching from the side line heard the difference.

I would recommend this upgrade to anyone.

Note: Your synchro's must apparently be in good condition

Forget about the NISMO short shifter it is only 10% shorter and barely noticable.

And yes it is a bit pricey but i have absolutely no regretes and no problems recommending it.:jump:

Shameless plug:

I'm bought a couple of C's Short Shifters whilst I was in Japan, and selling them for $450 each plus shipping...

Even if your synchros are in good condition .... I heard that the short shifters help to adjust that :(

Damn!!!

I wish i found this site earlier:mad:

Yeh great your a genius you know what double clutching is. Thay wasnt my question. Perhaps i should clarify.

But what is over selection, putting too much stress on selection forks??? or is it going to 5th when wanting third, 2nd when wanting 4th. I havent heard this term before.

I have the C's short shifter too and when my car is cold 2nd really crunches - even at low revs.

My car came with this from Japan so I can't compare to the original shifter but I can say it does feel good shifting with it (when it's warm). Very tight feeling and quick to shift.

overselection is putting pressure on the shift fork past the gear engagement point. Resting your hand on the gear stick when driving does this as well. The overselection may will wear the weakest part, some gearboxes this is the shift fork others the gear/syncros.

i just installed one in my car on thursday night, and i must admit it was one of the best $500 i have spent (so merli's ones would be a bargain!)

Feels really nice now, nice and direct... i was a bit worried about installing it, but when i was doing it it wasn't so bad at all (hardest bit was removing two c clips!)..

I took pictures while i was doing it, but my cable modem is dead, and i am not sitting on dial up to upload them :P i will try on monday though..

so if anyone is thinking of doing it! as nike says, JUST DO IT!
