Its pretty decent, alot better then a straight auto, mostly because you can hold it in gear when you want to. The gearings are a little bit off though, 1st is useless for anything other then standing starts, and seeing as the 180km speed cut comes in before 3rd gear's redline, 4th is pretty pointless, so you find yourself using 2nd gear most of the time anyway.

This coming from someone who's made the most of his tiptronic R34 :D

i have an auto too. As far as auto's go it is a really good box. Good combination of manual and auto. way better than the 33 box.

1st is pretty useless apart from standing start second and third is all you use in the hills fourth is basically and overdrive to drop revs and save fuel i think.

i am getting the shift kit fitted as soon as i can get my bloody emanage working properly.

i hear that it is sooooo much better with the shift kit and its not that expensive either. also i dont think anyone else has mentioned it, but i put redline gearbox fluid in my box and it made a noticable difference better gearchange a little less flaring. so if you do get an auto or have change gbox fluid to high temp shock proof asap
