Changing Avatar

Before when you wanted to change your avatar, you just paste the URL of the Avatar into a box and update it...

now you can only choose the forum ones?

Yes.

Hot-linking of Avatar's was disabled two days ago as people abused it.

One person linked a 3.4mg avatar.

Think of all the users who suffered

ok, some users have the option to upload a avatar and some dont, it seems that NON-SAU members can, and the members cant..

Okay, should all be fixed now.

You guys can no longer hotlink to external servers.

You have to upload your avatars to SAU and keep them under 100kb and under 120x120 pixels

Let me know if there are any more problems!

It doesn't work for me.

I've got a 20k avatar no more than 120 pix and I upload it but it just keeps my old one which it warped yesterday.

Dunno... Try renaming the file you're trying to upload.

ahh I thought I was crazy I had the same problem. No matter what I uploaded I kept getting the old pic, I had to external link to change it

Well mine now has the pic I tried to upload but seemed to fail.

Yeah, it's not working properly... It doesn't update the pointer for your profile to the new avatar. It still references your old avatar.

Same here, tryed today to change it to a different pic and all it did was distort the current avatar pic.

is this fixable ?

Seems I've got the same problem.

unless you tell it what size to do ie 120 x 120 it will resize it to that automaiticly.. if you picture is somthing like 180 x 150 it will squash it to 120 x 120.

the change doesnt show immediatly if you wait 1 minute or 2 and refresh you will se the new acvatar

This is still an issue.

You upload the avatar and it gives no error message but your new avatar is just not there.

Yeh i changed mine yesterday, it took a good 11 hours till it showed up different

It looks the same to me as it has done for a while now.

I got funky to delete mine. It showed me as not having one - as you would expect.

Then I uploaded a new one and the old one reappeared!!!!

Where did it come from?
