Yeah from memory I did a 1.51 with Al in the car.

They weren't overly happy about it. But I maintain PI is a funny track in that a "safe" lap isn't that much different to a fast lap because most of the corners are long sweepers so you are just maintaining throttle. There isn't much in the way of super late braking at PI so there isn't much time to be saved in that area.

Anyways - I just know it's easier for me to just not take passengers at PI any more.

how are the Maserati days... do they usually get the full quota of cars? will an ugly silver whale be shunned in favour of all things fast red and Italian? (ie are they a good natured bunch or are they a bit serious)

I want to get back to Sandown and see if I can't better my PB, good fun and so close to town compared to other tracks...

HSV Owners club is at PI on the 15th Oct, must be the one Snowy is going to....

I was at P.I. on Saturday with the MSCA. A great day, good weather and no issues - apart from dodging oil from old Alfa dungers.

Ripped a 1.52 with a best theoretical of 1.51 if I ever get turn twelve right.

I heard something about there being a "slow group" at calder?

If thats true, i'll be considering popping my track day cherry, and I know there's another 2 that are in the same boat as me

dezz- there is 'driver training' for those who haven't been on track days before, basically you get somebody showing you the race lines on the track at a safe speed... Obviously your driving with the instructor in the passenger seat....

If me and these 2 other first timers were to do calder, We could just move out of the way for the faster guys I guess...

Yes it happens on the day, but you will be in a different group, obviously with other newbees...

That way you don't have to watch out for 'faster' cars trying to get past you...

A big "Well Done" :P to Aaron and the Stig for their first and second placing in the Skyline class over at my stomping ground at the WRX Club.

While Ben waives the wand, you still have to put them 'round the track. I'll be looking for a tow around the track next year as well boys.

Well done to you too Andrew, your not far behind!! Gonna be some stiff competition next year, the Snowmobile will be out!!! Big congrats to everyone who partcipated this year....

Huge thanks to the WRX club aswell, without them these days would be non-existent.

      Made a bit of a discovery, but while I was cruising, I randomly decided to test to see if it worked and it showed up on my IC7. The entire time I tested it before, I never thought to turn the ignition on. I only tested it with head lights turned on but with the ignition off. Huge oversight on my end. I’m a dummy. I know.

      RB30DET timing belt tensioner relocation query

      G'day all, I have drilled and tapped the hole for the relocation of the timing belt tensioner. That was straight forward. I'm unsure if I need to also put another hole for the smaller stud that the spring behind the tensioner catches on (this is how it seems to work in its original spot). Or do you not use the spring behind it and just torque it down? Thanks in advance, I did a search but couldn't find anything related and it doesn't mention it in the rb30det sau guide.

      Hi All,  just thought I would provide an update as I know smooth (Matt) was on this forum from 2003.    my brother Matthew passed away end of may 2024 at the age of 41 from liver failure. I am not sure how many of his original team krazy friends are still on here or active but thought it reasonable to let the forum know.    if you have any photos or pictures it would be great if you could share them.    it took me a while to work out he was active on here.    thanks so much
