Well, I intend to cruise. No speeding, just cruise and enjoy the weekend. Just as long as you stay away from the hot spots, you should be ok. I will take the back roads and enjoy the drive.

I'd be in for a cruise down the new road in the new year- especially if it ends up near the Imperial Hotel (at Clifton I think) - reasonable pub grub and amazing views out over the ocean.

Sounds good. I have a nice route thought out already from say, Homebush all the way down to Towradgi Beach via Lawrence Hargrave Drive. Could make the Imperial a lunch stop over on the way.

I went down there earlier today, every man and his dog was there checking it out, we were going about 30km/h from stanwell park through to bulli. There was about 6 or 7 Ferrari's stopped down at stanwell park too.

Imperial hotel is just a borded up old building since the road was closed and the scarbrough pub has had the publican kicked out since the new road opened.

But as for the road drove it the other night for the first time and yeah its cool at least they kept the windy bitts when they built the bridge.

Oh and on another bad note A friend who works for the RTA and was on the constrution side of things was saying thet they are already haveing problems with concrete starting to crack and fail LOL!!!!!!

Cheers

Very sad to hear- many long afternoons were spent with beers and good friends looking over the water at the Imperial.

Kel (and Duncan if your reading this),

Id like to set a date for the cruise pretty soon so everybody has a chance to set work dates e.t.c.

What are the chances of having the BBQ at the end point of the cruise?

My BBQ is set into the house, so theres no moving it :D

Im happy to provide some meats, i havnt been shopping lately but $80 should cover a heap of assorted meats for the cruisers? i know it will be more precise when we have definate numbers

Is it best to charge people (at cost?) or provide food for free if SAU NSW member

A lot of people are dissapointed about the newcastle cruise not happening, so this might be compensation for them

This will be the first SAU cruise ive orgsanised and every bit of help is appreciated

Sounds like a plan & thanks for volunteering to get it organised :)

The club has a barbie which we can bring along.

People usually seem happy to chuck in a couple of dollars for a feed - just need to make sure we get a good idea of who will be coming so we bring enough food.

We can actually run this as a CAMs covered club event with insurances etc. This will mean though that you'll need to be a member to attend (like Putty Rd cruise).

Might be good to plan for mid-late Jan or Feb?

If you sweet talk Duncan he could put the barbie in the back of the ute and bring it along - I'm pretty sure it's not skyline boot sized.

My guess would be $5 max is all you'd need to charge for lunch and should work out cheaper than if you bought your own stuff along?

Fear not the barbie was skylne boot tested before purchase

So I can come along and actually keep up this time ;)

Or if you dont end up keeping up theres always "but the BBQ weighs heaps!!!" :D

Im thinking the 5th Feb (A Sunday)

Start Homebush P6 (just to make it easy)

Cruise down king georges road until sutherland, turn towards the gong, stop for a quick regroup at the turnoff to national park, go through national park then over the sea cliff bridge, then i found a nice carpark about 5 mins down the road from the bridge (theres not enough parking at the bridge, too many camrys and alike)

Meet at 10am for a 1030am roll out, we would arrive no later than 1pm, lunch on, then whatever - swim, eat, talk, and finally go home!

How does this sound?
