Ive been thinking about that, the only drawback i can see is having at least 1 member in each car, because some people arent members and cant be bothered signing up

And i thought that might make them hesitant about coming along

No unfortunately- having a member in each car is how they get insurance to cover us for the event.

It's probably not a big deal for a social cruise- you just need to make it really clear that it is a forum event, not a club event and therefore not covered by any form of public liability insurance.
