Hmm

when I first got my R32 - I used to get this quite badly too. I figured it was fuel related – it seemed to surge (continue to drive or accelerate) when I lift off the throttle at speed (freeway driving).

Just by way of a process of elimination for you, I've done a full engine rebuild, new R34 N1s, new plugs, new fuel pump (Tomei), new Spiltfire coil packs, new SX fuel regulator, new fuel filter and I've even had my std injectors cleaned and flowed. (not just to fix this problem – obviously)

Since I installed a PFC with the matching EBC - the problem is much better - which is to say that I still get it - but only very rarely, and no where near as bad (the passenger can not notice any more).

I told my tuner that I was having this problem (when he was installing the PFC) and he said he could tune it out (he seemed to have heard of this problem b4). The car also used to hunt @ idle (and even stall some times) – but the PFC has fixed that too.

So - I suppose what I'm saying - I'd be interested in figuring this out too

How many Psi you running again gun?

I'll answer first - just 'cause I'm here

If he's just removed the restrictor - on a std GTR that should bring him up to about 14psi. (just under 1 bar I think)

I currently get the problem at any level (I have boost pre-sets for 8/10/15/18 psi)

Compressor surge (?) - the turbos just aren't efficient at 1 bar and those revs.

Maybe the turbos are out of balance. The compressor and exhaust housings can be rotated relative to each other, changing the point at which the wastegates open (mate with a R33 GT-R had the problem).

mine is actually quiet bad as i if i gas it in first it just dies at high rpm,2nd gear it does it on and off through out the revs,i think i might put dual stage in the car and put boost back down to 9psi and wait till i upgrade me shit b4 running anymore boost

just thought i'd add what i heard, for my two cents worth.

My 32 gtr arrived from japan running 1.6 bar ( yikes ) it surged under full power like a muther funker. Since i have turned it down ( blitz dual sbc ) to 1 bar, it doesnt do it so bad. Stuff i have read says that its a pretty common prob with gtr's running more boost ( and or, aftermarket turbos) on a standard manifold.

Power fc may help a little ( i think you already have one "gun" )

But anyway thats what i heard.
