Why not? what's the big deal? Wow, some one can put it into the fast database and check what year it is, what options it came with. if you work with an insurance company or rta, you can check the address it's at. Once again wow.

The same can be done if anyone gets your number plate. Anyone walking past your car can see that.

that's his japanese VIN number anyways, all cars that come into Australia recieve an updated VIN, which is on your rego sticker for the world to see anyways
