R33 Fan Problem! >.<

hi people ....just wondering ...when u guys start ur car in the moring ...in ur engine bay can u hear the fan it sounds like tick tick sound . and then few mintue later it gose quiet agian.....anyone know what can be the probelm ?.....i more thing ....how do u know when to change ur timing belt ? and how much dose it coast to replace a new timeing belt?

The ticking is in the clutch of the fan... Its filled with oil and the ball bearings in the fan clutch are not lubricated when you first start. You could replace the fan but its not going to affect you until the clutch give out... Just anoying

Timing belt is about $110 for a good Gates performance belt and would take about 1-1/2 hours to change. I always suggest doing your fan belts at the same time...

Cause its and R33 yous hould do your water pump while your there too....

Sure its not the tappets?? Before they get oiled up?? I used to get it in my commonwhore a bit on startup.
