$26,500 ONO - make me an offer!

I've bought a stagea - great for carring large amounts of stuff arround - so it's time for the fantastic car I've owned for several years to go -

press_release.gif

What is a R34 GTX Turbo? It was the top of the range skyline when the R34's came out - see http://english.auto.vl.ru/catalog/nissan/skyline/1998_5/ for all the models, and http://www.nissan-global.com/GCC/Japan/NEWS/24b6.htm for the nissan press release for this exact car.

The "X Turbo" came with all the optional extras, specifically the limited slip diff, Traction control, upgraded sound system, privacy glass, xenon lights, 17inch alloy wheels, etc.

Do not confuse the R34 GTX Turbo with a R33 GTT! The R34 has been vastly upgraded ie better -

1. engine (NEO) (206kw..)

2. turbo

3. intercooler,

4. brakes (4 piston caliper at the front, with bigger disks)

5. steering (Super Hicas)

6. Traction Control

7. Exhaust ("dual tailpipe muffler with exhaust pressure-sensitive control")

8. Stiffness (better than a R33 GTR!)

9. Gearbox (M-AT, with paddles, torque lock, engine braking...).

10. interior - updated and modern.

My specific car details are -

1998

Tiptronic - ie M-AT You can use it in auto or manual mode (which includes using paddles on the steering wheel). It's good!

117,000 kms - if I wound it back to 50,000kms (like all those adds in the trading post) you would believe it. Timing belt has been changed etc.

Silver

Dual airbags

ABS brakes

Limited Slip Diff

Traction Control (which can be switched of on the dash)

Tinted windows

MP3 player

8 speaker "Holographic" sound system (active crossovers on the rear speakers).

Duel Muffler exhaust (ie "sports" exhaust).

Strut brace

Climate Control

Cruise Control - top of the range rostra (all electric)

alarm & immobiliser with remote pager and auto window winder- top of the range (Aus insurance approved).

Custom built tow bar

Custom seat covers

All power options etc

Central locking

Adjustable height headlights (dial in the cabin).

4 door

ie it is a stock standard R34 GTX Turbo, accept for the things I have changed/added -

1. The MP3 Player (JVC)

2. Cruise Control - top of the range rostra unit, with RF connected buttons on the steering wheel.

3. Custom tow bar (from Prestige in Melbourne)

4. Custom seat covers

5. Top of the range alarm, with remote pager and window winder - you just shut the car with the remote, the windows go up and the alarm/immobiliser is activated.

6. An unused (not connected) turbo timer.

Yes, you may be able to import an R34 GTT (not X) a little bit cheaper than this (if you are lucky, a lot of importers underestimate the total cost). But there are some good reasons not to -

1. The cost of the Alarm, Cruise Control, and Tow bar will more than make up the difference.

2. Import risk (ie Are parts going to be stripped before it gets to you? What condition is it really in, etc etc)

3. No need to worry about compliance, and your local road authority (it's been here (vic), and registered for several years).

4. It will NOT be easy for you to find one (and it will cost more) with the optional traction control, and limited slip diff - both extremely valuable features!

This is a very very nice family :-) car, very quite inside, excellent interior, very smooth ride and handling, which has no difficulty overtaking. :-) The four doors certainly reduce the attention from the police as well.

If your interested, send me a PM, or ring me on 0422 479 540. Genuine interested buyers only, and no, you won't be taking it for a test drive unless I'm sure you really are interested in buying it!

Nice car, good luck with the sale man!

Yep, I've liked it :( The comfort of a luxury sedan, with a skyline performance and handling.. Of course, it might not sell, in which case I'll tell the wife 'I tried, looks like we will have to keep it..' :(

The stagea is good as well, great for carrying crap around, but it is 200kg heaver, and has more road noise as well. Still, it has the same NEO engine as this one :(, and is better than any wagon I could have bought in Oz!

Hmm, it appears nobody is interested in upgrading to a r34! I'll put it on drive.com.au next, but I've changed the price to 'Or Nearest Offer' - so let me know if you are interested.

Not too fussed, I can always tell the wife it wouldn't sell, and will keep it.. :D

lol i though th eprice was funny but then it was 2005 which would have been right

lol

Yep, it wouldn't let me edit it! Definitely not worth that now! When I finally get off my backside I will do a new post with a more sensible price at the top of the screen, as I think anyone looking at this one won't get past the first sentence... :-) For 2005 that was an OK price - remember the dollar was a lot lower then and the car was a lot newer :-)

Part of the trouble is I really do like driving it, it's just that we have shifted home and now really don't need two six cylinder turbo cars!

    • Happy new years folks! Wishing you all a successful year of money pit ownership!  So the subframe bushes are out....   Ok, who else has done that job before??  What a C U Next Tuesday of a job that is!  Be glad to not do that again in a hurry! I think I explored every option available to chop the middle section of the bushes out, most of them unsuccessfully! I dried a holesaw, die grinder, normal drill bit, air chisel, etc, etc. The true success happened by accident when I'd decided to try a step drill I spotted on the bench on the way passed.  See, there are benefits to never cleaning up after yourself! It RIPPED through so so much better than the drill bit. It has to be the skinniest one available so its small enough to fit between the inner tube and outer casing but it made easy work of it.  First one i hammered the shit out of... New method- 20250102_185506.mp4     I did the other 5 in less time than I fluffed around with the first one. I used the cut off saw (sawsall as the yanks love to call them) to cut a break in the casing. Even with that they're still a prick to hammer or air chisel out.  The last few i just went rambo with the air chisel without cutting them. I overcome one of the early ones so will hit the with the mig to fill the cut then sand it off smooth.  The carnage left over-   I've also been "nesting" ie, cleaning up my babies nursery,  ie cleaning the f**king pig sty of a shed. I've got that much shit laying around it's as cluttered as my head!  Getting things put away, in boxes, on shelves, hanging off walls, all to get some working space back again.  Hopefully that keeps me motivated....
    • AFAIK does the base map for Haltech even have the 4D compensation enabled? It's been a while but when I looked at it I remember it was actually using pure TPS as one load signal and MAP for another. Seemed workable but not ideal by any stretch. A lot of people have "make the event-itis" which leads to stuff like this happening.
