Hi All,

I know a lot of Skyline drivers out there use copper plugs as an alternative to platium and irridium plugs. Especially with modifications copper plugs are easier to tune and are less prone to misfiring.

However does anyone know how long these plugs will last (km's approx) with normal driving use. I don't mind using these plugs but changing them too often would be a pain.

Thanks,

Paul.

i had my last set in for less than 7000kms, changed them yesterday.

they were not completely stuffed but the car was idling rough for about the last 1000kms.

i changed them with another set of coppers and right away the idle is now perfect again, and at low revs there is less vibration. so i guess their life depends on how picky you are.

Thats the beauty isn't it.

Can change them as often as you want, they are only a few bucks each :P

I can understand iridium/platinum in motors such as the V6 in the magna that you have to actually remove the intake runners etc to change and replace gaskets etc in the process.

However RB20/25/26 are one of the easiest motors to change plugs on.

well i would say far from eaiest i mean most small 4cyl cars u pull off the coils or leads and there u go, with rb25 u have to pull a whole lot of crap off to get to them.

although i leave the coil cover off so i can get the coils and plugs out without touching the intake piping but still a squeeze!
