Cat Back Exhaust Systems ?

i recently bought a r33 gtst it has acat back system on it however its very quiet is it because its from the cat back or can anyone explain, ive heard alot of other skylines around that are much louder any info would be great

its probably a quiet exhaust system.

some are, some are not.

alrite having a ful turbo back exhaust system wouldnt make it louder right ? and sorry if i dont knwo what im talking bout still new to skylines

is it a proper jap system or was it made up by an exhaust shop?? if you have a look at it you probably have a couple of resonators (hotdogs) quitening it down... you could replace the resonators with pipe which would make it louder.

wouldnt recomend it if its a proper jap exhaust.

i got the car from autoworx in w.a and the exhaust is from japan,by having a turbo bac exhaust system would that make it louder or ?

may be try and get a high flow cat that should give it a better and louder note than what it is

putting a dump might make it a "bit" louder.

some jap systems are designed to be quiet.

some loud.

You've obviously got a quiet one

i diddnt notice any diff on noise when my dumpy and hi flow cat was put in

what muffler do u use? ur piping probley has a resignator in it...restrictes flow and makes quite

get a straight through 3inch to ur cat wit a big open cannon...than it will roar

dont see whats wrong with a quiet one

i had a 5zigen cannon before and it was loud.. sounded sweet but got used to it and was embarassing roaring through the streets with everyone looking

my exhaust now is super quiet, all you can is the turbo spooling and induction noise.. more pleasant to the ears and still just as much attention

ive had loudest! ext gate.

going for quiet as i can. You get over it if you drive the car often enough

mines nice, low revs/normal driving, it makes a nice quiet rb25 sound... dig your foot in and she roars

Yeh dont see a prob with a quiet one, better than having a droney exhaust. Atleast u get performance without having to worry bout the cops on your back.

Yeh - I don't know about the getting sick of a loud exhaust thing eh - mine is 3in the whole way no mufflers and I haven't got sick of it yet, or pulled over for it(touch wood)... maybe the reason I'm not sick of it is cos i'm too young to know better...

Deffo tho if your on P's you want a quiet zorst...(A loud one has worked okay for me admittedly... )

i have one of the "china" spec s/steel cat back systems on my r33 with stock front pipe, dump and cat and its rowdy as! 3" mandrel bent stainless steel with a big stainless cannon out the back....

i have a "Flying Performance" (ebay jobbie) 3" Dump/Front Pipe, Highflow 3" cat, 3" Kakimoto catback (has a muffler and a resonator) and it made 83 decibels when it was tested by the EPA a couple of months back...

Now, i think mine is TOO quiet

(83 would be very very close to stock levels, if not quieter)
