Yeah i went there yesterday and the air is like ice. When he was testing the temp from the vents it was measuring 4dc to max of 5.5dc.Pretty cold.

He also said to give him an hour and a half but he was only an hour. What he did was change the filter, seals and regas.

Hey steve he looks like a relative of yours.I could see a bit of facial resembelance.

Yeah - its that cold you wont be using full fan with ac on, i cant handle 100% fan and ac at 18 now. Ice is a good way to describe it!

..........no relation

  • 3 weeks later...

I had the A/C in my R32 GTR looked at on tuesday by a local mob. They hooked up the gas rig to re-gas it and told me all the pressures and everything was perfect. They regassed it anyway (for free) and their was no difference and then told me it was because my FMIC was blocking airflow to the A/C compressor.

Anyone else had this problem or do I just need to visit a better workshop (ie the mob in this Groupbuy) ?

Edit: Well Phil just told me more about my A/C problems on the phone in 5mins then 3 local workshops did in 3hrs (my last tuesday afternoon) so i'm booked in tomorrow to get some work done :P

I am going to call phil 2moz.

I have this problem when i turn the air con on.It makes a loud gassing sound about every 5 mins just cruising which in turn dips the power for a second. It could just be the compressor tho.

And lately it has made an even weirder sound. And i think it is air con related.

I will post up how it all turns out.

Rock on SAU BBQ!!!

hey N1GTR - can he rebuild compressors?

I need new bearings, and maybe get the clutch done at the same time. If i send him mine could he rebuild it and send it back to me here in Adelaide?

Could you ring and ask him prices etc for me? (save me an interstate call :))

Cheers ;)

I would ring him for you but am flat out this week - when you say rebuild the compressor wouldnt it be cheaper and easier to buy one off a half cut?

Well I visited Phil this arvo and he certainly knows what he is on about. Took a whole 5mins to diagnose my problem (leaking hose) so he just regassed it to get me by until I can get the car back to him for an entire to have it fixed/serviced.

When I arrived the AC was set to 18.0c but was actually blowing 27c air and when I left it was blowing 5.1c air, friggin freezing  (but its leaking so its quickly getting warmer again).

Bl4cK32 - Phil can rebuild the compressors, I asked him today for you. He said to definitely give him a call so that he can grab some more details.

As above, id ring him for you next week if you want, but i would be wasting his time seeing as i dont have the part in front of me and couldnt answer his questions on the unit

He is a good guy, and knows his stuff, im sure if he can help you he will

Hi SAU members!!

does anyone knows a part number for R32 GTST A/C compressor? and if you know other alternative compressor that fits R32.

my A/C been a pain in the b**t! first Outside temp sensor was out and I fixed it.

    • Yeah one of the first things I out in when I started having catch can filling up issues. Still prefer to empty 1-2 times a track day rather than every session
    • You'll find this link is probably more useful  Performance Turbochargers - Garrett - G GT GTX GTW Series Turbo TBG G35 1150 map may not even get added to my list depending on how it looks, the G35 1050 already is a mixed bag for making the numbers you would expect from the compressor map due to mismatch - I don't know how another 10lb/min of compressor flow is going to make that any better.   I've left out others for similar reasons as it's already getting quite big.   In terms of Precision, provide me with legit compressor maps for them and I'll do my thing   I'll add some more of the newer Xona Rotor options are they're pretty boss, I'd take a 68mm Xona over a G35 "1150" any day of the week - or Precision for that matter.
    • Ahh got it. Well maybe install a drain for the catch can somewhere down low and accessible like a wheel well too....
    • Before you blow your car up, have you checked you've made all the correct modifications to the wiring if you're still using the RB20DE loom?   Some things to look at: The pin used for the map sensor on the RB25DET, is the same pin used on the RB20DE for the Ring Gear Crankshaft Position Sensor, no idea what you've got it plugged into now. The turbo pressure control valve solenoid you're talking about on the RB25DET, the same pin is used for the Variable Air Intake Control Valve on the RB20DE.   The factory manual has the wiring pinouts in it for you to check everything. It also has the diagnostics process to read codes out. In addition, there's a great table that shows what sensors and what actuators not functioning will relate to which signals. And Nissan confirm the as everyone else has from experience, the Solenoid being disconnected won't cause a fuel cut. However, the turbo pressure sensor being missing / wrong, WILL cause a fuel cut. https://www.nicoclub.com/service-manual?fsm=Skyline%2FR34-Workshop-Manual-English.pdf
    • I've been hunting info on the G Series II - this is best I have found so far(Link below). Still waiting on the G35-1150 comp map, kind of very keen   So how do we go about getting precision on that little table of yours ?   https://turbosbytm.com/sites/default/files/product/technical-info/Garrett-G-Series-II-Product_Flyer 25 30 35_1.pdf
