Needing Help For R32 Gtst

hey guys this is actually my first post ever so please bere with me.

my problem is this ... i went to get my front tyres changed on my 32 GTST. the Tyre dude said that my ball joints are gone.

I had a look myself and my tyres moves around a considerable amount. when i rang a few places to get new ones i was told that i must change the whole control arm costing something like $900 for the pair.

does this sound correct ?

could i have a total diferent problem all together? i dont see how i could have busted them cars only done 80,000kms and i havnt cracked any gutters... while i drive the car she seems to drive smoothly no clunking

It can't hurt to get a second opinion.

It wouldn't be the first time a tyre fitter got it wrong.

If they are stuffed you might be able to buy a serviceable pair from a wrecker for $150 or so.
