You don't need a turbo timer.

I don't have one so I just drive it real easy at the end of the trip. Also before turning the engine off I make sure to do other things (eg close windows/sunroof, unplug iPod, make sure I have all my bags/belongings) and by that time the car would've been idle for around 10 seconds already. That time, combined with the easy driving at the end is enough to let your turbo cool down to a safe level.

That being said, the GReddy one is probably the TT I would get as it has all these funky extra RSM-like functions. :)
