Mains Thrust Bearing

hi all...

Quick question... rebuilding engine atm....

We stripped the engine but the machinist took the crank out and we are about to put it back in but not too sure if the mains thrust bearing goes in the middle or at the back????

It's an RB25DET motor

We are pretty sure it goes in the middle because there is an extra groove for it but if anyone can confirm this, that would be great..

middle - you should be able to see the step machined into the block. Also if you look at the crank at the mating position you can see the mating thrust face.
