Weird Wining Noise! Plz Help!

Hi ppl,

I just purchased my R33, (yesterday). 95'.

Everything seem fine,

but there this noise from the engine, sound like belt tension, something like that, and when at cold idle, or the air con is on, the car is runing rough, up and down crazy, Engine Shakes as well. Car idle at around 650, but if give bit of gas to about 800rpm the noise went away and its all smooth.

Brought it to a mechanic,

he suspect its a vacumm leaks,

we checked and narrow it down.

The Vacumm hose from the air inlet connect to the pollution can,

everytime I block it off, the engine runing smooth, no noise. But if i let that vacumm hose free, the noise come back and idle rough.

We check for that hose leakages, but seem fine.

Could it be the Polution can itself?

or wat other problem caused it?

and wat does the pollution can do????

Is it OK for me to close that vacum hose off and drive it for the mean time?

will ti do any damage?

are you referring to the carbon canister? if so its for emissions and can be bypassed safely, if you get pulled over cops may ask about it however but it should be ok

The noise still there intermiitently,

very annoying.

anywaiz, i think i should bring to it a skyline specilist or something to get it check up!

Does any one know a mechanic in SYdney?

Western Suburn area that know a great deal bout Skyline?

and one more thing,

I duno where the battery of my car lies?

Checked every where,

100% sure it wasnt in the engine bay, nor the boot.

Cheked the backseat also but not there?

where else could it be?

In the boot, behind the back seat, check it, might have to remove some trim or something but they are there
