Was just surfing yahoo auction and found something very interesting

shinichi4437-img600x450-1133586230surottoru3.jpg

there not alot of info on it

"They are 6 connected throttles of RB26. The manifold for NA. It is the HKS delivery pipe attachment. Funnel kernel funnel 70 millimeter."

would be awsome setup if you had an N/A rb25 could grab that and then get a Adoptor plate :P:O:O

Cheers Michael :)

Its made using the individual throttles of an RB26DETT and some custom linkages, injector rails and trumpets.

If you guys watch the full video of where Tsuchia test drives the mines R34, a couple of cars before it is an R32 GTS sporting a N/A RB24DE with hex throttles. And it goes like a dog with deep heat on its balls. Also a few N/A guys in japan have used the L28 hex throttle assembly adapted to fit RB20DE's for some fun.

For a 120,000 yen that's actually fairly decent considering you get all the bits and pieces. An adaptor plate isn't hard to do either.

If I still had my GTS I'd be all over this one combined with a MAP sensor conversion / aftermarket ECU.

The first Skyline to start winning races was a straight 6 n/a called the GTB. In the early 90's autech made a tribute to this car by using an R32 GTS4 and putting an RB26DE n/a engine in it with GTR style individual throttles. Needless to say both are very highly sought after items :P

hmmm.. how much power do you recon you could get out of a R33 gts, s1 with that... and an aftermarket ecu, exhaust, extractors pod ( maybe even super charge it too ) :P Just, slightly interested..

i dont think you would superchage it as that would take away the point of having 6 throttle trumpets. and you dont put 1 pod on it. you have 6 little airfilters

it would be trick tho. i know they do it with v8s and those toyotas and they sound pretty mint so im sure a N/A skyline would sound crazy!!

If I get time I'll scan up the article on the Tomei built R33 RB25DE with the hex throttle treatment that beats GTR's and revs happily to 10,000 RPM. Although that engine had a lot of work put into strengthened internals too.

One of the reasons people do this is because of the different racing classes. For example in Australia, a R32 RB20DE GTS is eligible in the 2.0L production class racing. If you had a RB20DET GTSt it you get a 1.6x penalty, making your estimated capacity 3.2L and meaning you'll have to compete with V8's, GTR's and other larger capacity cars where you'll have no advantage. If you had a high revving RB20DE though, you'd be king of the 2.0L class (well close to... an S2000 would still kick your arse).

How much power does an RB20DE make? The highest number I found was here, which quotes at 165ps.

Or I could get an SR20VE that puts out 190ps, and be a shorter lighter engine.

An S13 Silvia is over 100kg lighter than an R32 Skyline.

But yes, an S2000 or Lotus Elise / Exige would demolish either car and rule the roost, unless you're allowed to race Clubman style vehicles like PRBs or the Atom.

the application was purely as an example. No one runs RB20DE's in improved production class, due to the power to weight disadvantages. There are a couple of N/A silvias being built up for it though.

I got an article on this in a R32 GTR book I got while in japan..

220ps/6800rpm

Automatic Gearbox

E-HNR32

Engine bay looks the same as a RB26DETT but on the turbo side..there ain't no turbo hehe just some big 'tuned length' extractors..

    • Hey guys. I have a 400R on its way to Australia from Japan currently and have a few questions I’m hoping others may be able to help with.   Wondering if anyone here has had any luck getting the Sat nav unit to work in Australia!? Assuming the Stereo is as simple as a band expanded and tv won’t work?  Seeing as they’re based off a Q50 which is Aus delivered is there any way to link that system to the nav? Nav modules and head unit are different part numbers and appear slightly different at the rear with plug ins etc. can I put my xtrail sd card into the rv37 and will that convert the maps or update to Australian? Has anyone got any advice here?     also has anyone fitted the factory remote start and Security system once it’s landed in Australia? I put an enquirey to Nissan Japan in via a third party, and they suggested it needs a Nissan Japan dealers device to setup and couldn’t guarantee if one here could do it or not. They can supply and I can physically fit it but to setup I would need a dealers device. Any information here would be appreciated also. I’ve seen one here with it fitted already prior to leaving Japan at a dealer/inporter, so clearly passes compliance and works when fitted Japan and doesn’t need changing here.      also, does the tyre inflation sensors work here? Does anything change with them when the vehicle arrives? Where are they actually situated? I’ve read they have batteries and they need to changing at times and seems like resetting involves the nav system?    any help here would be appreciated and any other aust specific information to help would be great. Looking forward to see what the current generation skyline is like and eager to see how many of the gadgets can be utilised here.  Thanks in advance
    • Do need to take it with a pinch of salt. One of the adapter failures, they clearly had setup issues with the flywheel.  One of the slipping ones I spoke to and it was pretty clear the throwout was riding, rather than fix, just swapped to a new clutch.    These clutches are being put in anything from 5k offroad 4x4 beaters, GR yaris, 500hp commodores to 1200hp barra monsters. Bound to be some issues in some of them when they are not a simple bolt in affair due to the changes in height.    There is a lot going on in this picture and unless I did the job myself no way to tell what really happened.
    • I did this mod in 2019  You just have to modify the top bracket of the ABS/TC/Fuel Pump Control ECU so it sits more upright and closer to the back seat and run a good quality positive battery lead from the engine bay, the negative lead i just bolted down to the body in the boot.
    • Damn... Not the feedback I want to hear.
