Guys and Girls

Was thinking about this over the weekend and thought it would be a good opportunity for people to show their appreciation for particular SAU members or the club in general. Also somewhere for memorable events that can be whored until the year end!

For me:

Went from a forum user to an active member which can be a tough transistion as most know. Snowman - massive thanks for going the extra mile, prior to your presidency also. Also for the lifts this year and being a good all round guy.

From here it gets difficult for fear of leaving people out :) The entire committee has amazed me that a group of such young people can work together so well to achieve events such as DECA and the track days so Chris, Bec, James, Al, Leewah and Ash.

And to everyone that has made all of our events run trouble free and smoothly (at least on the surface to us), well done and thanks.

To everyone else, Mav, The Bris, Scott and plenty of others. Thanks for being top mates, its not easy emigrating with no family or friends so huge thanks to all who I have met this year at SAU.

Best event would have to be DECA but closely followed by the Winton rounds. Absolutely awesome stuff :)

All the best for 2006 SAU B) B)

Hey Alan. Well said mate.

This year the club has grown very well. 150 plus, members on the books, and in the 1st year!

I have also enjoyed the SAU year, with much fuel, fumes and alcohol. The spirit of the club is great, with a welcoming and encouraging base, which works well for all members.

Commitee guys, much apprieciate your work through the last 12 months, with events, meetings, and other activities.

Cheers to all!!

Hello,

only have been here a short while but have been really thankful for all the great advice given to a noob like myself.

I've sent in my membership cheque and eagerly await becoming 'official' - now all I need is my Skyline :)

Thanks to the individual(s) that came up with the wang banger.

Seriously though been a great year, one that has been run very well by all the commitee had a blast at the track days and at the events that have been put on as well. will see everyone in the new year, probally when i get back from thai land. :) :)

Great idea Alan.. A fantastic way for the club to show their appreciation to the committee and other members for what’s been done throughout the year... Hardest thing is to not miss anyone..

Prob to start thanx to the committee for organising all the events that they have, every single one has been a complete joy to attend and thoroughly enjoyed them.

Thanx to those who have driven me on various cruises etc when i didn’t have a car :).. Scott, Alan, Chris and also Big boy for the squirt at DECA. . And of course Pete and Al for their DECA Motokhana events which i think turned drift/burnout sessions :)

Thanx to the Bris for his driver training at Winton we had a great day and he gave me a lil more confidence to trust my car a hell of allot more than what i was game enough to do in the first place..

Look forward to next year with a full board of events and many many more enjoyable wang adventures and shenanigans.

This year has been a big one hasn't it? It's hard to remember everything we've done as a club this year. A number of Show N Shines, 2 highly successful DECA weekends, a great circuit calander where people raced at Winton, Sandown, Calder and Philip Island, a number of charity events, BBQs, countless cruises including the annual GOR and Macedon cruises. A drive in night and most recently a poker night. This really is a social club which incidentally involves cars :D

I personally would like to thank the rest of the committee for putting in the hard yards to make the first year a highly successful one. Your work has been invaluable. As this these are volunteered positions and we all have full time jobs and some with children, it's sometimes a real juggling effort to get all the SAU stuff done at the same time (Pats on the back).

I would like to thank all the members of the forum who have helped make the club what it is today. With over 180+ memebers, we truely are a club with everything. Without members, there is no club. Without your input, there is no club. This club exists because of you. Make it what you want it to be.

The committee is just a channel of formalising ideas which the members come up with. We are are your bidding. All you need to do is suggest it and the committee will consider it.

We will be running a club membership renewal drive in Feb next year and I hope to see as many of you there as possible.

Please take care during the Xmas and New Year period and if we don't see you at the General meeting tomorrow night, we'll see you in the new year.

Cheers,

Dave.

See you all in the new year!!!

This really is a social club which incidentally involves cars

love it :D

yeah well done everyone its come a long way and its great to see. Not that i was around to see much of it... but ive beena watchin :D

well done to all the committee members for their fantastic work and everyone else whos had input and helped out.

now my cars sorted out and will soon be on the road i will be able to attend far more events. Looking forward to actually participating in a DECA day :D

Great idea. I've been a member of the forums now for a little over a year, since then I've learnt so so so much and I picked up the confidence to import my own skyline. I also recently joined the club and am slowly putting faces to names.. All of you SAU people are so outgoing and nice, and It's good to feel so welcome at events and the like.

My liscense test is booked in for the 28th (9 days!!) so I'll be able to come in my own car instead of scabbing rides of the rest of you. Thanks to those who offered/gave me a lift(kaz180, rrrage, nismoboy, ruffles).

So thanks for a great year, I hope to meet more of you and join in on trackdays and cruises next year. :)

Only been here a short while (hasn't stopped me racking up a shit load of posts...thanks vic wasteland ;))

made it to my first "event" which was the poker night, and had a great time.

My car will be on the road early Jan, and I cant wait to get to some cruises/events in it....particularly lookin forward to the GOR cruise!

When i first signed up I was in the process of buying a skyline from a private seller, but thankfully i didnt go through with it (dodgy car) and since then i've increased my knowledge a huge amount just by reading stuff on here.

Cant wait to get my car, and get to some events to meet the rest of the members :D

Member 0151 :)

Well - can I just say it's been an absolute pleasure working/playing with all of you this year. We really enjoy being able to put together events and activities to encourage everyone to participate and have fun.

2006 already promises to lift the bar - I can't wait.

Now I just need a car...

James

Yeah, its been a great year for SAU-Vic thats for sure.

One year in existence and look how far we have come.

Without a doubt the Committee has learnt a lot from the running and goings on of this year.

With that comes the knowledge that will propel us into the New Year to hopefully crack the 200 Member mark.

That in itself would be an absolutely massive achievement for a Club primarily based around Grey Imports

I think a lot of the thanks however, goes to you guys, the members.

Without you there is no SAU-Vic.

The members are what makes the car club, more than just a car club.

SAU-Vic is qithout a doubt a community and a great social group. More than people with a common interest, we are all mates.

The members are what makes any car club, without it the Committee has nothing to strive for, no-one to organise events for, no-one to get inspiration from... etc etc ... im sure you all get the idea.

So thanks to my fellow Committee members, but also thanks to the Members. If we get all members signing on for 2006 that is what will ultimately give me all the thanks i'd ever need.

Cheers - ash

Yeah, what everyone already said.

The club has come a long way in a short time. Congrats to all involved.

Hopefully next year we can get even bigger and badder.

BASS OUT

Merry Christmas people!!

Everyone knows I'm a bit of a grouch about being in Victoria. Just take in the fabulous 30+ degree gale force winds outside and you'd understand. 5 1/2 years here now and the first few were pretty dull untill I got interested in my car and started racing again and joined a certain online forum. The members of that forum became family. You can't choose them. Some you tolerate or just get along with or even ignore, but by and large some of the finest people I have ever met have come from this forum and the outstanding online discussions had. Were it not for circumstance preventing me physically in the past couple of years and impending changes in my life and location in the future I would be proud to do more through the club in a formal capacity. I will support every event possible for the remainder of my time here though.

Fortunately we have the most profoundly excellent commitee that I couldn't ever hope to improve upon myself, and a sensational membership in the club as well. It will be a sad day when i must go, but I have a few more months yet to enjoy your company.

I wish you all a great Christmas and New Year festivities and look forward to an entertaining 2006.

If you could all stand and show your appreciation.
