DJ984
Hey all, my GTR has just started getting a bit jerky and trying to stall out whilst driving... is it the coil packs? it's also poping really loud out the exhaust (which makes me think it's coil packs not firing properly leaving an extra rich mix in the chambers)... that's the first thing i thought but i just thought, maybe it's a fuel pump (better not be). how do i diagnose the problem? need to get the car back to perfect yesterday! (ie ASAP) thanks heaps, Dave. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/99170-help-asap/ Share on other sites
slimjim
Hey that happened to me on the test drive of my new 32 GT-R To check if its the coil packs just take off the top part of the engine (screwed in with allen keys) Then listen to the engine, and unplug and re-plug each connector to each coil pack. If the coils good it should change the idle noise as it will drop another cylinder. But if you undo one and the idle doesn't change, then thats the coil thats stuffed. What you described sounds exactly what happened to mine and it was just a coil pack Good luck! slimjim
No probs dude, did you try that out? Was it the coil pack? Replacing a coil pack shouldnt be more than a couple hundred bucks at most I'm guessing.
