Bad Ticking At Start Up!

Ahooy people....

I have a niggling problem which needs ironing out...

My car has a really bad tick at start up. Once it warms up however it goes. Now, I have just put and aftermarket exhaust manifold in my car, and it seems that the tick has come since I've done this. And the tick is coming from the exhaust side.

Would this be an oil pressure problem or something like the lifters?

Any thoughts?

That sounds like there's a hole in the gasket somewhere?

Yeah...either a loose bolt on the exhaust manifold, broken stud or holed gasket would be my bet. Take it back to the guys who fitted your exhaust and get them to sort it out.

A mate and I did the exhaust manifold. And snapped one of the bolts whilst putting it on. I didn't think this would have caused an issue at the time. As the majority of the bolt was still holding the manifold on. Does this need drilling straight away? Or is there another way to sort this problem?
