Rant About My Beach Volleyball Team

Hi

I need to let off some steam.... so y'all listen now

At my work we have a Beach Volleyball team that competes at Friday lunch times in a coporate challenge at Belmont Oasis. Today we had the Grand final... we have made it to the Grand final three times in a row now... losing every time.

We play well as a team throughout the season, calling for the ball, setting it up for the right player etc. But in the grandfinal the boys decide to become BALL HOGS - yes I am the only girl.

Here's some scenarios....

One guy sets it and says "Matt"... problem is Matt is in the other corner of the court and it is not physically possible for him to reach it.

Ball comes in my 'area' the guys next to me charge for it then back away when the realise they can't run that fast to reach it... oh and then blame me for not getting the ball cause I moved out of their way.

The Ball is coming down... possibly two people could get it. No one calls.. but one person delegates "Liz its yours"... ok so for the other 45mins of the game you were happy to steal my shots, but now that you're too lazy to run for it - its mine. Also when you hear someones voice, you're immediate reaction is to move off and wait to back up.. you assume the voice is a call... NOT a delegation!

Anyway we all make mistakes.... but I HATE BALL HOGS. And especially ball hogs that blame other people when they stuff the shot.
