Friday 9am is cutoff for names being added due to food being bought - thanks

Guys,

A BBQ and cruise to start the year!!

Trying a new spot to stop aswel, just for a change..........

DATE: 5th Feb 2006 (a Sunday)

MEET AT : P6 Homebush (same as memorial cruise)

MEET TIME: 10am for 10:30am SHARP roll-out

DESTINATION: Coalcliff beach

VIA: National park, Sea Cliff bridge, Lawrence Hargrave Drive

BRING: Your Skyline ( well duh  :P  ), full tank of your favourite 98 octane,

cameras, $5 for BBQ, plus any other usual stuff

The directions:

Leave P6, turn left and go down Australia Drive, turn right onto Homebush Bay Drive, follow all the way past Hurstville towards Sutherland, turn left after Kirrawee McDonalds (where the Wollongong sign is), then follow to the National Park entrance. We will stop for a regroup at the turnoff from the highway if the group gets scattered in traffic so we can all go through the park as one group.

After the National park we will end up at Lawrence Hargrave Drive (resembles a shorter, more streched out Maquarie Pass) which takes us over the Sea Cliff Bridge, from there we will go roughly 10 mins down the road to Coalcliff Beach for BBQ lunch

Or just follow whoevers in front - makes it easy.....

Bring $5 for lunch (ive been told that quite reasonable for the BBQ), any money not used towards food will go towards the SAUNSW bank account - which benefits all of us...

Update : Charlie (NXTIME) will be selling drinks at cost - so leave your drinks at home

As usual this being a cruise and not a speed event DONT SPEED, it just brings the wrong sort of attention to the group......as you guys would already know!!!

Wollongong SAU'ers, we should be arriving at Coalcliff Beach by 1230pm, so come up and meet with the Sydney guys and have lunch - all is welcome

PM me or post up here and ill add you to the list,

please let me know so i can organise lunch!!!

Let me know peeps...........................................

Well just confirming that I'll be there tomorrow... the car has been hurriedly put back together for it :( Only managed to get half the stuff in for tomororw :P

And it hasn't all been tested yet, so I doubt I'll be doing much "spirited" driving :)

Steve - there is every chance my mechanic will be coming too, but don't worry about food we'll sort that out!

Yes, rain or shine (hail can get f*cked) its on

As for spirited driving, i wont be doing any. Ill be there with my "super tanker" as i so lovingly call it (holden berlina) due to a gtr issue that happened today. If r33's are boats then this holden more than earns the title. ( http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=104495 )

So come over and say hi, ill be in a silver SAU shirt just to make things easy.

SEE YOU ALL THERE BIATCHES

Super Tanker :(

Also, if anyone has a 5L jerry can they could bring along that would be good, I am very concerned about this new fuel pump, we haven't actually tested out what the fuel intake does when the meter gets low :P

Last night i was defected so i cant drive the car untill i get it cleared. This means no cruise for me steve.I will pay u back if you the $15 for your time if you want next time i see you.

The non standard exhaust is all they got me for.

Do you know the deal with defects, like, can i wack the standard exhaust back on and go for the test or do i have to take it to the clearer and get it tested first like it was when i was fined. And then recive a fine and then go to get it cleared with the stock exhaust??it has to be emissions tested also.

Cheers

Craig.

U have to got it clear,

but dont u have like 14 days to clear it?

can u stil be driving? (maybe)

bastard cop, exhaust is NOTHING,

U can just get it clear with ur current exhaust,

I know a mechanic, If ur in sydney,

$110 for a blue slip,

dun need to go through the hassle of take it out and put it back in.

    • Very decent bit of kit. Definitely black it out I reckon.
    • Because people who want that are buying euros. The people with the money to buy the aftermarket heads and blocks aren’t interested in efficiency or making -7 power, they’re making well over 1,000hp and pretty much only drive them at full throttle  best way to way make money is know your customer base and what they want and don’t spend money making things they don’t want.
    • It's not, but it does feel like a bit of a missed opportunity regardless. For example, what if the cylinder head was redesigned to fit a GDI fuel system? It's worth like two full points of compression ratio when looking at modern GDI turbo vs PFI turbo. I'm pretty reliably surprised at how much less turbo it takes to make similar power out of a modern engine vs something like an RB26. Something with roughly the same dimensions as a -7 on an S55 is making absolutely silly power numbers compared to an RB26. I know there's a ton of power loss from things like high tension rings, high viscosity oil, clutch fan, AWD standby loss, etc but it's something like 700 whp in an F80 M3 vs 400 whp in an R33 GTR. The stock TF035HL4W turbos in an F80 M3 are really rather dinky little things and that's enough to get 400 whp at 18 psi. This just seems unwise no? I thought the general approach is if you aren't knock limited the MFB50 should be held constant through the RPM range. So more timing with RPM, but less timing with more cylinder filling. A VE-based table should accordingly inverse the VE curve of the engine.
    • I've seen tunes from big name workshops with cars making in excess of 700kW and one thing that stood out to me, is that noone is bothering with torque management. Everyone is throwing in as much timing as the motor can take for a pull. Sure that yields pretty numbers on a dyno, but it's not keeping these motors together for more than a few squirts down the straight without blowing coolant or head gaskets. If tuners, paid a bit more attention and took timing out in the mid range, managed boost a bit better, you'll probably see less motors grenading. Not to name names, or anything like that, but I've seen a tune, from a pretty wild GT-R from a big name tuner and I was but perplexed on the amount of timing jammed into it. You would have expected a quite a bit less timing at peak torque versus near the limiter, but there was literally 3 degrees of difference. Sure you want to make as much as possible throughout the RPM range, but why? At the expense of blowing motors? Anyhow I think we've gone off topic enough once again lol.
    • Because that’s not what any of them are building these heads or blocks for. It’s to hold over over 1000hp at the wheels without breaking and none of that stuff is required to make power
