SteveL
Anyone know who can replace the rear windscreen seals on a R32GTR???... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Rear screen is bonded in place like the front, I think. There's no rubber seal as such. Best thing would be to talk to a windscreen specialist and see what they would charge to remove and refit the old one. Will have to be done carefully as the rear screen is tempered glass which shatters easily. Al
Rear and front windscreens are both bonded (with sealant) and sealed with rubber seals. New rubber seals can be purchased through Nissan, but are not cheap and may need to be ordered from Japan. These can be fitted by most major car windscreen replacement companies. Alternatively you car take your car to a windscreen replacement depot and ask if they have a generic rubber seal that would do the same job. This may not look 100% factory, but shouldn't be a real problem, and it will be cheaper and quicker Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/99817-rear-windscreen-seals/#findComment-1817970 Share on other sites
SteveL
Rear and front windscreens are both bonded (with sealant) and sealed with rubber seals. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> There are no rubber 'seals' as such with the front windscreen on an R32 GTR and I believe the same is true of the rear. The windscreen is bonded in place and the bonding agent (essentially a type of silcone) also forms the weather seal. There are also various plastic channels and spacers which are used to locate the windsreen and attach the outer trim and these are sometimes called 'seals', but they actually don't 'seal' anything as such. And yes, they are also expensive. I've had the front windscreen replaced on my R32 GTR and I was there when it was done. No rubber seals were present nor needed to be replaced. I thought it would be less than that. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/99817-rear-windscreen-seals/#findComment-1818287 Share on other sites

Al
Geez........ Gotta get a bit technical Usaully spare parts stop production about 10yrs after the last car of that model is manufactured. But Nissan will still have stock available till they run out. Downforce
hehe Al, relax dude.. i was just curious if car manufacturers had a legal requirement to be able to supply spare parts for their cars for a certain period of time. i had my front windscreen replaced recently, found out the genuine nissan garnish that goes around the windscreen is $600 hehe so i just reused the original one.
