Brake Squeak

hey people, had a real fkn bad annoying hissing sound coming from my wheels past couple months, found out bake pads were worn so got em replaced on all 4 wheels.. now that i got the car back almost every time i brake it makes a really loud squeak... which u can imagine 2 be soo fkn annoying.. any idea if this is the mechanics doing as they might have fkt up something when replacing the pads??? ... so ive takin it to ABS and they said its guna cost me $940 to fix claiming that the rear brakes are alright but the fronts neeed maching, calipers etc etc... anyways any help would be greatly appreciated cheers (Y)

when you replaced the pads, did you get the rotors machined? if your brakes squeal then this is generally the cause.

it should not cost $940 to machine the rotors but.

generally wen they replace pads they machine the discs, if they didnt there dodgy coz its standard work practice. U never fit new pads to worn discs. Get another company to do ur brakes $940 is heaps...and make sure they bedd them in properly

its ur pads moulding into ur brakes.. good coefficent of friction.. basically.. ur pads r against ur discs which dnt mould proper.. so machinin.. should cost $25 each! at max! pads.. r like 150 for 4piston fronts and rears near same. 500max! and labour.. if u really dont like it.. get some brake silencer from supercheap..

brake squeal means ur brakes r glazed..

with my GTR my pads squeal when they r hot.. mostly during touge.. but the gtr brakes r best when hot.. so.. just spray them.. thats what i would do.

hey all again... havent posted 4 a while been busy but 2 keep use up 2 date here is the latest news....

after taking car back to performance shop and telling them how abs wanted to charge me $940 so on and so on EAS (the performance shop which i take my car 2 do all mods etc etc and first claimed i needed new pads) said they would put new brakes in all round for $580... similar ones 2 those of abs... that was done and yeh brakes still squeaked....

after this just couple dais ago i take car back again blah blah blah they said it must be the shitty pads abs gave them.. so they put new "better" pads on.... my god! the squeak was louder than ever.... brakes had 2 be blowing red hot b4 the noise would go away....

todai i get car back again... they sai he lubbed em up again... embedded them in the best he could etc etc... took it 4 bit of a drive.. not 2 hard as it is quite wet out there 2dai n yeh no sound until i fkn break slowly as 4 a red light.. and theres that fkn squeak again... pulling up in2 my garage SQUEAK... WTF is wrong with my brakes ARGHHHHHHH!!!!

gota get new tyres ... so got hookt up with tyre power.. told him bout da brakes blah blah... they guna look at it 2morow n get back 2 me.. apparently just need a better groove line or sumthing... anways... dats my stori sorri 4 long post!!!

btw.. getting Pirelli P7's.... 225/50/r16 ... suppose 2 be even better than the TOYO T1-Rs ... (big call so see how we go!)

have you had the rotors replaced or machined?

everytime they put pads on, if the rotor is warped, you will keep on getting the same symptoms.
