Hey guys, first off im very new to the Skyline Scene

and i still have much too learn.. so problem below

will be tried to explain best i can.

After taking the car outta the garage this morning i noticed

i had a big leak.. after inspecting i found it to be

next to the passenger side rear wheel

( Which i believe is the control arm.. the leak could be from correct if im wrong)

The liquid spilled out is of like a silicon base (very sticky like glue)

Is anybody able to enlighten me of my problem? and what it could be?

Yeap thats it, its coming from the lower right hand green dot.

Thanks guys for all your help.

The trouble will be trying to find a place thats open/or ill have till wait after new year, unless someone could help me out?

Will it be okay for me to drive the car..?

Also on a scale from 1-10, will it be possible to change it myself..?

considering i do have abit of knowledge around tools.

Most people don't bother changing the subframe bushes, you have to remove the entire rear subframe/suspension/diff to do it. The most common fix is to clean the silicone fluid away and fit a Whiteline rear subframe alignment kit (pineapples). These fit over the standard bushes and don't need the subframe to be removed. About 30 mnutes to fit, following are some pictures of a Stagea rear end (basicaly the same) wiht numbers that line up with the WHitleine instructions;

Subframe alignemnt kits are available on the the Group Buy for $110 delivered;

Yeap that was very helpfull and appreciate it heaps.!

Only x1 thing would concern me getting the Alignment Kit would be that since the bush went ive got this strange sound coming from the rear... very hard to describe but im guessing the sound

is coming from the bush/area. the sound isnt loud at all, and more sound like something is unstable etc..

Perhaps its something else i need to get checked out..

But as mentioned it is pretty strange only happened ever since

the bush went.

Fitting an alignment kit, im guessing would help rid of this sound??

( sorry i get all paranoid when i start to hear wierds sounds etc.. )

I checked out the link for the Groupbuy.. thanks for that :)

would it be possible to reduce the turn around time of 10days delivery?

i wouldnt mind paying abit extra for the freight. Just would rather get it fixed asap

Thanks for all your help SK, once again much appreciated.

The subframe is most likely twisting, as it has 3 working mounts and 1 not working. It is quite common to simply fit the alignment bushes, they sandwhich in between the standard bush and the mounting bracket. So they become the limiter in travel, taking the load off the standard bushes.

Whiteline are back on the 4th January, so delivery on the 5th is possible.

:) cheers :)

No problems at all, i will get you to organize the sub frame alignment for me

Ill take it to PM

Cheers,

Dave

SK, how many bolts should I need to undo to install the front pineapples in the "Maximum Traction" position? I've undone the 2 nuts holding the subframe in place, but the whole assembly doesn't seem keen on dropping (pivoting) so I can insert the pineapple. Tx

Pull it down.

When i did the front ones, i had to remove the whole mount to fit the bushes.

For the rears, i did the max traction one and just lifted the entire subframe with a jack, slipped on the bush and washer, then tightened.
